Small batch electronics
Prepare a PCB
assembly quote
A practical starting point for a first prototype, a small production run, or an assembly that needs inspection or rework.
RoboSprout is based in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Its published services include small-batch SMT and through-hole assembly, hand-built prototypes, inspection and rework, wire cutting and stripping, and FDM prototyping. Confirm current availability and technical fit for your project.
01 / BUILD
Describe the result
What does the board do? Give the quantity, likely repeat runs, target date and what already exists: boards, parts, files or a working sample.
02 / FILES
Keep one revision
Prepare a matching BOM, placement data and assembly drawings. Include fabrication data if sourcing boards is part of the discussion. Confirm accepted formats first.
03 / TEST
Define finished
Describe programming, pass or fail checks, fixtures, records and packaging. Identify any certification or traceability requirement and who performs each check.
Start with a short description. For confidential designs, agree on confidentiality and a file-transfer method before sending production files. A quote request does not authorize a build.
Discuss your project with RoboSprout ↗Electronics project brief
Tell us about your project. “Unknown” is useful when a decision is still open. Required fields are marked *.
Do not include passwords, private keys, confidential production files or other credentials. Agree on a secure file-transfer method before sharing designs.

Before work starts, confirm the accepted file revision, supplied parts, scope, price, lead time, test responsibility and approval process. This brief is a discussion aid, not a manufacturing specification or an order.
File checklist for the manufacturing package
- BOM: reference designators, manufacturer part numbers, quantity per board, package and allowed alternatives. Mark parts that must not be populated.
- Placement and drawings: component side, position and rotation, pin 1 or polarity, and hand-assembly instructions. Check that these agree with the BOM.
- Fabrication, if needed: board outline, layer data, drill files and required board specifications. Separate unresolved design changes from the released revision.
